HEARTio, a medical technology start-up in Pittsburgh, has partnered with the Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP), America’s largest independent cardiac care practice, to undertake clinical trials and customer discovery. The start-up’s Unique Machine-Aided-Matrix Algorithm (UMMA) will be pitted against three of the world’s top ECG interpreters. The HEARTio team aims to fill a serious gap in the current healthcare environment; by leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence, they hope to offer affordable and personalized diagnostics that reduce turnaround and increase availability.
